About Our Brand
It all started with an old man named Willem Abraham Grové, the "Sapa Inca". He had a son named Louis Andries Grové... They were farmers from Rouxville and were just coming out of the worst time South Africa had ever experienced economically! There was no money. The tears of the sun dried up and out of these troublesome times, Louis decided to open a restaurant in Aliwal North... He didn't know what to call the restaurant, Sapa Inca eventually thought of the name. They served food for the people and had no tears of the sun to pay for a big sign, the name was INCA. Louis, the new Sapa Inca had two sons, Willie and Louis Jnr. They started the clothing brand in 2020 coming out of the strangest times the world has ever experienced, covid-19! But the clothing brand was born out of South Africa's best clothing retail store, which has a very interesting story on its own, Awerbuchs, established in 1901. INCA clothing is for the people of South Africa, the hard-working people. INCA has got their back and will continue to do so for the next 100 years.
