About Us
Where it all began...
It all started with Willem Abraham Grové, the "Sapa Inca," a resilient man from Rouxville who faced South Africa's harshest economic times. With his son Louis Andries Grové, they endured the struggle of those days when there was no money and hope seemed scarce. Amidst these trying times, Louis took a bold step and opened a restaurant in Aliwal North. Struggling to afford a grand sign, he named the place "INCA," inspired by the legacy of his father, the Sapa Inca.
Louis, now the new Sapa Inca, had two sons, Willie and Louis Jnr. In 2020, as the world grappled with the upheaval of COVID-19, Willie and Louis Jnr. launched INCA Clothing. Born from the roots of South Africa's esteemed Awerbuchs, a clothing retailer established in 1901, INCA Clothing was crafted to serve the hardworking people of South Africa. Our primary focus is on clothing and shoes designed for those who work the land—farmers and agricultural enthusiasts. INCA Clothing stands as a symbol of resilience and support for the hardworking individuals of South Africa. We are committed to standing by their side for the next 100 years and beyond.
